Game 12: Braves 4, Rockies 3
There’s a way to rebound from a no-hitter and there’s a way to rebound from a no-hitter. I’m not sure what this was an example of, but it involved Jason Heyward and a walk-off win. A very good way to bounce back. Let’s go.

There are some memories that stand out in the minds of Braves fans. Some of them are good, some of them are terrible. This game was one of those ‘cover-your-face’ moments, as the Braves got no-hit. Sure, it’s always exciting to see one of these games, but it kind of blows when your team is on the receiving end of it. Let’s go.

The Braves are on a winning streak, and that makes me happy. Once again, Friday night kicked off a series against the Rockies that shows that this team has some potential. Let’s go.

It’s good to see the Braves win. Much better than seeing them lose. And that’s exactly what they did on Thursday night, earning Hudson his first win of the year.

Obviously, this series will dictate the course of the entire season.
Game 10: Braves 9 Rockies 5
The Braves put this one away early with a seven run second inning and going on to win the series opener 9-5. Derek Lowe didn't pitch great, but got enough run support to win his third game in three starts so far this year.Read the rest of this entry »

Game 9: Braves 6 Padres 2
For the record, I LOVE the powder blue Braves unis. It reminds me of the 80s Braves, but in a good way. Reminds me of when I first started watching Braves baseball on WTBS and quickly decided that my favorite player was of course, Dale Murphy. I wish they would wear these more often.Read the rest of this entry »
End of the road trip game thread
Personally, I’m glad to get a lot of the west coast out of the way early.
Game 8: Braves 6, Padres 1
Well, I don’t know what happened on Monday, but the Braves seem to have gotten it out of their system. At first, it seemed like we were going to see the same anemic offense that likes to rear its ugly head, but that just wasn’t the case tonight. The Braves scored when they needed to, and the pitching was phenomenal. Let’s go.

The pitching match up was a good one. The Braves sent out one of their young guns, Tommy Hanson against the guy who the Padres got in the trade for Jake Peavy, Clayton Richard. Richard had a winning record at Petco Park until the Braves got to him in the 6th inning, which ended with Troy Glaus hitting a 417 foot 3-run HR into the upper deck. Tommy Hanson gave up one run as he went 6 complete inning, striking out 7 and issuing 4 walks.Read the rest of this entry »
Monday NEVER HAPPENED game thread: April 14, Braves at Padres
Weird to have a two-game series this early in the season, isn’t it? And two days off before it!

There’s some games that I don’t like to write about. There’s some games that I don’t even like to mention. This was one of them. Let’s try to figure out what happened in this train wreck.

For Game 5, I said that when it rains, it pours. Well, after the rain stopped in San Francisco yesterday, so did the Braves’ offense. They lost the rubber match against the Giants and their first series of the year. Not an impressive way to start the road trip, bringing their record down to .500 for the first time this season. Let’s see what happened.

Chipper injured while rehabbing current injury……ugh!
You just can't make this stuff up! Chipper experienced back spasms yesterday while trying to rehab on his oblique injury by taking some cuts in the indoor batting cages of AT&T Park. I love Chipper, but that guy could get injured by some big raindrops at this point in his career. Glass Chipper said he would like to be in the lineup on Monday against San Diego, but with an off day on Tuesday, Braves hitting coach Terry Pendleton would like to see him wait until Wednesday to give it two extra days of rest. I know Chipper doesn't like to sit on the bench with us losing games, but he really needs to take the time off and get fully healed so this oblique problem does not linger this whole season.Game 6: Giants 6 Braves 3
Nature brought the rain, but Tim Lincecum brought the thunder down to the Braves hitters last night in the Giants 6-3 victory. The two time defending NL Cy Young award winner was touched up for a two-run homer by Brian McCann in the first, but then proceeded to only give up 4 more hits and strikeout 10 Braves over the next six innings. Jason Heyward hit his second opposite field homer in two days in the 9th, but it wasn't enough to bring the Braves back on this rain soaked day in San Francisco.Read the rest of this entry »
