Despondent game thread: Mariners at Braves, June 21

Oh, what’s the use?

Resolved: That the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, if we really have to have a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, should be in Seattle instead of Cleveland.

Mariners In Atlanta

Tonight we start a six game homestand against the Seattle Mariners, who seemingly have it worse than we do right now, as they are 8.5 games back in the AL West. They just recently took the Mets lead and fired their manager, John McLaren, this week. Erik Bedard, who was supposedly the trade of the off season, behind the Johan Santana deal, hasn’t quite panned out to be the ace that the Mariners thought he might be for their club with a 4.15 ERA and 4-4 record. But while they’re in the midst of their own troubles, we have our own to worry about…still.

At least we’re not the Pirates.. YET

This story made me feel a tad better. Apparently one of our "aces" could've been had for much less than Renteria. If the Pirates organization weren't such a joke, we would not have met our Curacaoaoian quota. OH NOEZ!!1

A no doubt depressing home stand begins game thread: June 20, Mariners at Braves

Though if you really want depressing, try being a Mariners fan. Maybe Monty Python can cheer me up.

Game 74

Well, this was depressing. We get up by two. Then down by two. Then we tie it only to lose in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Melancholy game thread: June 18, Braves at Rangers

Yeah, I’m hitting the thesaurus again. It was that or “gloomy”.

Hot Topic: Former Braves wives special edition!

I wrote about Francoeur and how googling his name brings up all sorts of weird "related searches". Well, here's another one I stumbled upon. Google Salty, like this.

Why? Why is Corky? Why is he? Why must he be? Whatever the bleep he is should not be!

“General malaise” is a symptom of altitude sickness game thread: June 16: Braves at Rockies

I was going to try to find something really depressing for this horrible one-game makeup, but yesterday’s entry has already been named the most depressing rock song of all time. So here’s a song that makes me feel general malaise.

Game 70

These are the type of games where having Kostay and Diaz on the DL really hurt. We just never could generate any offense, which generally leads to a loss. I can’t even complain about the number of runners we left on base, since very few got on in the first place.

Cautiously optimistic game thread: June 15, Braves at LAAACUSNANHE

Of course, we’ll probably see one of those “special” lineups tonight. And I still don’t know why Norton is DHing. I should stop complaining, I know.

Huh?

While I won’t do this a lot, I kinda got the idea for this from Lauren at Braves Love, since she’s known for her frequent photo analysis and gay lumberjack posts. My photo analysis posts will probably not be half as entertaining and funny as Lauren’s, but I thought I’d try something different on here. I thought I’d post this anyway because it seemed somewhat funny to me when I saw it last night.

Is KJ really “off the hook”?

I wasn’t planning on posting today, but DOB’s blog changed my mind. First, we’ll look at some quotes that I’m referring to:

Still pretty depressed game thread: Braves at LAACUSNANHE

Hey, you know what would be a good thing? More wins. I’m not really optimistic.
