Happy April Fool’s…

The past two games seemed to be an appropriate brew for a very evil April Fool’s joke. Of course, they were not, unfortunately. Besides losing the first two games, and the Nationals being in first place, everything will hopefully be fine.

Early exit for Johnson

Kelly Johnson left Monday night's circus early with a strain to his right knee. The injury is reported to have occurred while scoring from first base on a triple from Yunel Escobar, the braves' most consistent hitter for the evening. More can be read on this story at this link. Braves sign Wesley Snipes to replace Mark Kotsay


Just hours after signing the motor vehicle madman, Scott Speizio, the Atlanta Braves have signed Hollywood actor Wesley Snipes to a one year contract. Snipes is best known for his roles in the Goldie Hawn hit comedy "Wildcats," the character "Willie Mays Hayes" in the film "Major League," and as the rival gang leader in Michael Jackson's music video for the song "Bad." Snipes most recently starred in the Blade Trilogy.

Autism and Atlanta Braves (this is not an April Fool’s joke)

Here's a feel-good story for you guys. From CNN: When meeting Jeff Donohoo, it's not immediately apparent he is a 36-year-old man living with autism. In fact, unless you get him talking about the Atlanta Braves -- one of his true passions in life -- he is a very quiet person.

BREAKING: Frank Wren fired, John Schuerholz back as GM!

Citing “ridiculous” moves, including the trade of two prospects for a centerfielder with a bad back, and the failure to sign Mark Teixeira to a long-term deal “even though he’s willing to talk to that SOB Boras”, Braves President John Schuerholz has fired General Manager Frank Wren and named himself as Interim General Manager, with son Jonathan Schuerholz taking a new position as Executive Assistant General Manager.

Braves Lose a Heart Breaker

Tom Glavine made his first start back with the Braves since 2002. He did ok, giving up 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. He ended the game with a 1.80 ERA. The Braves bullpen did ok as well, at least until Manny Acosta came in. Last year, Acosta only gave up two homeruns combined in the minors and in Atlanta. He tied that mark last night, giving up a three run homer, and a solo homer. Tough break for Manny.
